Manuka honey is a single flower honey harvested from Leptospermum polygalifolium- the Manuka flower. Whilst traditionally thought of as a New Zealand product, did you know that the Manuka flower is native to both Australia and New Zealand? Australian Manuka flowers are grown in pristine bushland and we hand harvest our Manuka honey from 100% Australian grown native Manuka flowers.

Manuka flowers contain a high concentration of a natural substance called Methylglyoxal (MGO). MGO is scientifically shown to have broad spectrum antimicrobial properties and has been used for centuries as a traditional medicine because it is safe and effective. Today it’s loved for its antibacterial and anti-inflammatory support, for wound and skin care as well as for immunity, digestive balance and general health and wellbeing.

Nature’s Way Manuka Honey measures the antibacterial effectiveness or bioactivity using the internationally recognised standard and TGA accepted MGO rating system. Only honey with an MGO score of 100 or more can be called bioactive. All our Manuka Honey is bioactive, ranging from MGO100 to MGO830. The higher the MGO rating, the higher the bioactivity of our honey.
