Advanced form of Folic Acid

Pregnacare Conception Max includes L-Methylfolate, a more advanced, bioavailable form of folic acid.  The advanced formulation provides 400µg folic acid, the exact level recommended by the Department of Health for all women who are trying to conceive. Supplemental folic acid intake increases maternal folate status*. Low maternal folate status is a risk factor in the development of neural tube defects in the developing foetus. As well as playing a role in the process of cell division, folic acid also contributes to maternal tissue growth during pregnancy.

Omega-3 Essential Fatty Acids

Essential fatty acids play important roles in the body, but the body cannot make them so they must come from the diet. Research increasingly shows the importance of essential fatty acids in the development of babies and infants. Before and during pregnancy it is recommended to limit intake of oily fish due to potentially detrimental levels of mercury and pollutant contamination. A purified fish oil supplement is a good solution.

Pregnacare Conception Max includes a high purity Omega-3 capsule which provides DHA and EPA essential fatty acids.  During pregnancy maternal intake of DHA contributes to normal foetal brain and eye development.**

Proceedings of the Nutrition Society, 2020.)Based on this latest scientific research, Pregnacare Conception Max, includes 25µg Vitamin D. The formula also includes vitamin B12, iron, magnesium and vitamin D which have a role in the process of cell division.

Whilst no research has shown there is a link, some women have reported a delay in their monthly cycle while using this product.

Changes in lifestyle including changes in intake of nutrients, exercise, and stopping oral contraception is thought in some cases to have an impact on the frequency or regularity of the menstrual cycle. A delay in the cycle could also be related to other underlying issues.
